Farts are funny.
Posted by Mimi on March 30th, 2008 filed in HumorYep, you read that right, farts are funny. There. I am out of the closet with my fart humor. If you know me well, you know that very few things make me laugh as hard as toots do. It is true.
So, yesterday I am sitting in the furniture section of a thrift store with my mom, my aunt, and my friend Alissa. I was needing to sit down for a quick break. While we are resting from our bargain hunting I mention (for some reason I can’t remember) that farts make me laugh. I go on to say that even at my age, I find them to be one of the funniest things. EVER.
After a minute Cooper gets fussy and my mom pushes him in his stroller over to the rug section where an older man is bending over looking at a rug. He lifts the rug and LETS OUT A LOUD FART. No, seriously. Right then. Right there. Perfect timing. How serendipitous.
The man looks blankly at my mom and says: “Excuse me, please. . . for the respect.”
BWHAAHAAHAAHAAHAA! HOLY CRAP! What in the hell does that mean?
The best part is my Mom’s response was to act like she didn’t understand English.
Of course, farts are from a universally understood language.

I remember once when you were about 14. You were up on a ladder changing a lightbulb in the living room. I (7 years old at the time) ripped a massive fart from the ground. About 30 seconds later, you said, laughing, “Huh, I just learned that farts rise!”
