When the Cure is Worse than the Disease

I told you about this drug that I recently started taking that has given me some help with pain relief. Before I took it I went to the all-knowing internet to research the drug. Now, I don’t really like to read the lists of possible side effects because sometimes it kinda freaks me out or makes me anticipate horrible things that might not happen.

Ooops. I accidently saw the symptom at the top of the list.

Apparently this drug can cause “continuous, uncontrolled, back-and-forth and/or rolling eye movements.” WTF? I don’t even know what to say about this. <rolls eyes> Furthermore, it was listed as a common side effect.

I guess things could be worse. The drug for Restless Leg Syndrome can cause “uncontrollable gambling or sexual urges.” Oh my. Are they kidding? I guess not or they wouldn’t add it to their commercial as a warning. Can you imagine telling your husband you are sorry you gambled the house away, but at least your leg can rest comfortably? Or a husband telling his wife “sorry I screwed the pooch, but man do my legs feel relaxed.”

If next time you see me I roll my eyes at everything you say, or if I look paranoid and shifty eyed like I am hearing voices, at least you’ll know I am feeling less pain.
