Stick With What You Know

You know what bugs the ever lovin’ crap out of me? Famous people who think they should tell the masses which political candidate to vote for or what we should believe in politically. Especially actors and actresses. . . and now preachers.

I guess I have never been the starry-eyed type or been one to put famous people on a pedestal, but I think politics is very much out of the acting arena. I mean, c’mon people, you get paid ridiculous amounts of money to memorize words and later regurgitate them in the exact way in which a director instructs you. YOU ARE A PUPPET. How does that make you a political know it all? I don’t think most actors can even grasp what the average family experiences on a day to day basis.

And dude, why would a preacher stand at the pulpit and try to talk politics? Or bad-mouth political candidates? YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A SPIRITUAL LEADER. Firstly, I am leery of any spiritual leader who can spew such hatred. Aren’t you supposed to spew love an forgiveness? Furthermore, being a spiritual leader is a far cry from being a political analyst. At least I hope they are vastly different, or we are in big trouble.

I don’t call up my congressman and ask him to baptize me anymore than I might contact a preacher to discuss tax rates. I would really like to keep it that way.
