Uhh.
Posted by Mimi on September 16th, 2008 filed in LymeUnfortunately, I can’t offer good news right now. I have had a rough time lately. My right knee is gianormous and I hurt from head to toe.
I can’t sleep because I am in so much pain. And Sistah, I don’t do well with no sleep. The doctor prescribed me a sleeping pill and an extended release pain reliever. When I took them, I slept like a baby. It was the best night of sleep I’ve had in 3 months. The problem is, I couldn’t function the next day. I was dizzy, drowsy, and my brain had been replaced with a wet sponge. I didn’t take the pain reliever again, but it still made me feel horribly for two more days. I finally seem to have gotten it out of my system. So, now I am back to not sleeping. If it isn’t one thing, it’s another.
I have lost so much weight that I hover between 95 and 99 pounds. My shoulders hurt so badly I don’t want to lift anything. My elbow can’t straighten out completely on one arm and the other arm can’t lift much above my waist. Both knees hurt, my right foot and ankle are swollen and tender. The lyme has attacked my jaw again and I can’t open my mouth very wide.
Don’t worry, I can still talk. Whew. THANK GOD.
Here is a picture of my knee. No, that is not a pregnant woman’s belly. That is my knee. Oh yeah, in the other picture, my leg is not bent. That cantelope on the side is my knee, which has officially registered its own zip code. This is AFTER it was iced for two hours.
I am definitely going through the effects of a Lyme cycle. I am so friggin’ tired of this. I can tell you, this is no way to live. I can’t wait until I am better.
A hot lava enema would be less painful, I think.
We are going to a specialist in Louisiana soon. Hopefully he will have some good treatment protocols that can restore my life a little.
