Can’t We All Just Get Along?

What is wrong with having our President give a speech to our children about setting personal goals and working hard?  Taking personal responsibility.   Oh, and not giving up on yourself.  How dare he!

I read Obama’s speech.  And watched it.

I am sad we can’t even agree that our President should visit our schools and talk to our kids.  Seriously, peeps, we don’t talk to our kids enough.  It is an honor that the President has taken time to talk to them and to even think about them. To let them know they are important.  Don’t we WANT our President to care about education and about the success of our kids?   Our future?

Why do we have to argue about every. single. thing?   I am so sick of our bipartisan system.  One side refuses to listen to anything the other side says- just because it came from “the other side”.   Every little thing becomes a struggle and waste of time.  Not exactly a productive model.

Anyway, why are we making such a big deal about a speech when we have so many other things going on in our country that are WAY more important.

For example, did you see Michelle Obama wearing shorts the other day?  I mean, really.  WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?   Dress more appropriately for God’s sake!  After all, you are the first lady.    A wool two piece business suit would be nice.  And a pill box hat and gloves if possible.   Even when you are being a mom to two active, young girls.     Shorts.   Gahh!
