Call The Locksmith

Okay Dallas, it is time to change the locks.

Don’t worry, we have all done it– met someone we thought had charisma and charm– someone really amazing. Some of us have even given Mr. Charming a key to our apartment, only to realize our mistake and frantically attempt to get the key back, while calling a locksmith on the other line, and praying our roommates never figure out how stupid we are.

And how we put them and ourselves at risk because we became star-struck.

Somehow it seems obvious to me that a City wouldn’t make this mistake, would see Mr. Charming Pants as the snake he is. Not get emotionally involved. Just see the facts.

Nope. Dallas gave the key to the damned City to a convicted felon.

To a man who financially benefited by the torture and death of innocent animals (even though he was a millionaire). A man who personally participated in the death of several dogs. A serial killer of man’s best friend. A SERIAL KILLER.

The man who decided this was a good idea said it was for the “youth” .

People. What is wrong with our society that we value our “entertainers” so much that we allow them to commit heinous acts and then we not only give them a key to our City, but we do it for our YOUTH?

Michael Vick would not be allowed in the same room with my child or my dog. He isn’t someone I trust, respect, or would ever want anyone to look up to. I don’t give a rats ass what kind of ability he has on a football field.

I mean, is this the only person they could find to influence our younger generation? The City of Dallas couldn’t find a single person who might be more deserving?

Yes. I know, I know. He paid his debt to society, blah blah blah. I get that. I am not one to withhold forgiveness. If I avoided felons, I would not be able to go to family reunions.

But forgiveness, despite popular notion, does not need to be accompanied by forgetfulness. The characteristics of Sociopathy this guy showed is scary.

One of the first ass kissers was, of all people, the CEO of The Humane Society.   After the HSUS received $50000 from Vick’s Philadelphia Eagles team, the CEO said Vick “would do a good job as a pet owner.”  Ohmigod. I know people who have had their adoption application rejected by the HSUS because they rent instead of own. The HSUS really thinks Vick would be a good dog owner? Sure, and I would make a great NFL quarterback.

This is coming from a group who represents themselves as guardians for animals. Why don’t we have the fox guard the hen house. Hire teachers who are convicted pedophiles, maybe. Or, have Bernie Madoff run the federal banks.

Not only should he not have a legal right to own a dog (which he can’t until he is off probation), but people should think twice (or even once should do the trick) before asking him to be a role model to kids.

And, gawd, don’t give him a key to your City.
